Experience
Taught in Columbus at Marburn Academy for 4 years (2011-2015). This was a private school for students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, adhd, social disorders etc. At this school I taught 6'th grade language arts and social studies as well as remediation math and reading classes. I was trained in Orton-Gilingham and have tutored one on one with students outside of school for 3 years. One boy was a seventh grader and one was a 3'rd/4'th grader. Orton-Gillingham is a proven approach to helping kids struggling with reading and spelling. Students learn through phonetics and practiced patterns how to decode and encode sounds and eventually words. ps. I am currently finishing up the school year in Columbus. I will be up north on the weekends and permanently starting in June. I am looking for people interested in getting summer tutoring set up.
